This is our second year purchasing this fantastic clean and sweet Pink Bourbon through through the Asobombo Association. (We also purchase a Washed Colombia as a primary component in our Levity Blend from them.)

The association is bent on bringing generational change to Huila’s coffee community. Nearly half of the 170 young producer members are women, and they all work together as one to strengthen their land with both traditional customs and modern approaches to agriculture. Their smallholder farms are nestled in the south of Huila, near the majestic Salto de Bordones waterfall, at altitudes ranging from 1600 to 2000masl.

This particular lot is produced by 80 members of the association, and showcases the sweetness of the Pink Bourbon coffee varietal. Pink Bourbon has a stunningly high cup potential that wows coffee professionals and consumers alike. Its impressively high cup quality makes even more sense now that we understand Pink Bourbon is not simply a hybrid of two Bourbon varieties but actually traces to Ethiopian landraces. Its siblings include the highly-prized Geisha, which has consistently produced incredibly high cup scores. Pink Bourbon will continue to be a highly distinguished and valued variety.
